Duties And Responsibilities of The Technician Position at Hansel BMW of Santa Rosa

The successful candidate for the technician position will perform the following duties:

  • Document all work performed clearly and concisely.
  • Perform road tests upon completed vehicles to ensure safety and quality
  • Maintain high-quality work by checking over completed service before returning the vehicle
  • Attend training classes when required or when necessary to supplement existing skills.
  • Maintain your knowledge base by reading current factory technical bulletins to stay abreast of industry changes.
  • Maintain the utmost cleanliness when working on customers’ vehicles
  • Adhere to applicable safety and housekeeping policies and procedures as outlined by management.
  • You will need to understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations governing service repair work
  • Receive repair orders from the dispatcher and take them to the stall area or appointed area.
  • Perform requested work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy while maintaining high-quality standards. This should be done following dealership and factory standards.
  • The ability to diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform the repair as authorized.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills by communicating with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Handle parts by tagging and saving parts, turning in parts, and whether the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  • Demonstrate effective communication by advising the service advisor immediately if any additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed with the promised time.
